Labor Federation of Government Related Organizations
What is LAFGO?
We represent and organize 27,500 members of 67 affiliated trade unions.
Our members work across public services such as Special Public Corporations (SPCs),
Incorporated Administrative Agencies (IAAs), foundations and other non-profit organizations.
SPCs ( or Tokusyu-Hojin in Japanese, which literally means a special status) are corporations
established by the national Government by respective special laws as instruments for activities
required by the state.
Recently lots of SPCs were reorganized to IAAs (Incorporated Administrative Agencies) which are
organizationally independent from the government.
In the IAAs system,
- its performance is evaluated by a third party
- the general principles of the accounting system of private companies are incorporated
- a wide range of its information is disclosed
- each employee's wage reflects his/her performance as well as the performance of each IAAI
We speak up for our members and make sure they have a voice in public affairs. We deliver
various services to meet their needs for help, support and legal advice.
